Jordyn Woods’ famous Knicks good luck charm has a new admirer.
The entrepreneur and fiancée of Knicks star Karl-Anthony Towns shared a photo from New York’s championship parade on June 18 showing Mayor Zohran Mamdani proudly holding her now-famous orange clutch, Complex reports. Woods captioned the Instagram post, “WE OUTSIDEEE,” as the mayor smiled with the accessory that became a surprising symbol of New York’s title run.

A Lucky Charm Takes Center Stage
The bag, a Summer Citrus Tux Clutch Mini from Woods’ fashion line, gained attention throughout the NBA Finals. Fans began associating it with the Knicks’ success after Woods regularly carried it during key victories.
The superstition only grew stronger when the Knicks lost Game 3 after Woods left the clutch at home. Social media quickly turned the accessory into a running joke, with some fans claiming the bag had become the team’s secret weapon.
Towns even embraced the narrative. During an appearance on The Tonight Show, he joked that his fiancée had “made some magic” with the clutch during New York’s championship push.
Woods recently hinted that the bag’s run may be coming to an end. While appearing on TODAY with Jenna & Sheinelle on June 17, she suggested the accessory deserved a break after helping the Knicks capture a title.
“After tomorrow, I’m gonna hang it in the rafters,” Woods said. “It needs a rest.”
If that retirement plan still stands, the clutch’s appearance with Mamdani may serve as one of its final public moments. Either way, an accessory that started as part of Woods’ outfit choices has become an unlikely piece of Knicks championship lore.
