Jalen Brunson’s daughter steals show with shirt message at Knicks parade

The New York Knicks officially celebrated their NBA Championship victory on Thursday afternoon in the city. Jalen Brunson, Karl-Anthony Towns, and Co. came out with their families on buses during the parade, which started near Battery Park and ended at City Hall, where players and city officials gave speeches.

But it was the daughter of the NBA Finals MVP who stole the show.

The daughter of Jalen Brunson was seen pictured wearing a shirt that read, “New York, My Dad’s the MVP, Halelujah.”

When the team arrived at City Hall, Brunson took his turn up on stage and delivered a speech that had Knicks fans riled up.

“I want to say thank you to Jim Dolan in the front office for believing the kid no one else would,” Brunson said with City Hall and his teammates behind him. “Thank you to my teammates, giving me confidence every single day. The belief we had in each other made this possible. Thank our coaching staff, our medical staff, everyone that pitched in every single day behind the scenes. Damn. We really did it, dog. Somehow, someway, I knew we were going to find a way to get this done. Most importantly, thank you to the fans. I’m not going to lie though, y’all are some pretty hard critics, but we appreciate it. At least I do. Appreciate it a lot.

“Lastly, I want to thank my family. Truly without them, their sacrifice and everything will be possible. My inner circle, I mean, they keep me humble every single day. They don’t let me get off track for nothing. Damn, New York, we really did it, man. We really did it.”

The Knicks’ celebrations will carry on into the summer, as every team will likely have their chance to bring the NBA Championship trophy back home to celebrate with their hometowns.
