A scary situation unfolded as MLB legend Yadier Molina was set to fly to Puerto Rico with his family before his private jet crashed, killing the pilot and co-pilot.
This occurred in La Romana, Dominican Republic, as they were preparing to pick up Molina and his family in Texas to take them to Puerto Rico.
Molina posted a video of the crash on social media (via Mike Rodriguez on X, formerly Twitter). The crash caused a fire to break out. Unfortunately, the pilot and co-pilot, who were reportedly the only ones on board, were lost in the accident.

There were reportedly complications on board, so the pilot and co-pilot were trying to make an emergency return to the airport. Upon making impact with the ground, it went up in flames. Emergency responders rushed to the scene, and according to TMZ, an investigation is being conducted to figure out what caused the emergency landing and subsequent crash.

Luckily for Molina, he and his family weren’t on board at the time of the crash. They were still in Texas at the time, awaiting to be picked up.
Molina was a 10-time MLB All-Star during his career, which he spent entirely with the St. Louis Cardinals. He also won two World Series with the team during his 19-year career, and he was given the Gold Glove Award nine times. In 2013, he was given the Silver Slugger Award as well.
He was elected to the Cardinals Hall of Fame recently on May 1, 2026. A formal induction ceremony will be held in September 2026. He will be inducted alongside Albert Pujols during a pregame ceremony. Molina and Pujols were teammates on the Cardinals from 2004 to 2011 and again in 2022. The duo concluded their careers together in 2022,
