Mets fans go full-on NSFW mode brutal early blowout vs. Phillies

The New York Mets entered Saturday stung by the injury bug including Francisco Lindor. But then endured a massive beatdown at the hands of the Philadelphia Phillies.

Fans relentlessly came after the Mets while the team trailed 11-1 through five innings.

One fan called out Freddy Peralta for allowing seven runs in that time span.

“The Mets aren’t gonna get s— for him after trading two prospects. Embarrassing,” that fan posted on the social media website X, formerly Twitter.

Another fan posted a “the Mets are a–” rant online too. Bryce Harper worsened an already rigid evening by hitting this triple to complete the cycle.

Mets manager Carlos Mendoza later watched his team go down 13-1. Mendoza received fierce criticism for how NYM played. But owner Steve Cohen earned some harsher critique. A bitter Mets fans outlines the current struggles under Cohen, including recalling how Cohen told fans it would be a “major disappointment” if the franchise doesn’t play for a World Series title in five years.

But those words came in 2021. The Mets have made the playoffs twice with Cohen overseeing operations.

“The laughing stock of baseball every single day and every single year,” the fan account ranted.

New York snapped the scoreless streak at the top of the fourth inning. Mark Vientos smacked a solo home run off a 87 miles per hour changeup, which came on the first pitch.

However that homer made it 11-1 in favor of Philadelphia. The Phillies performed an offensive show in front of the slumping Mets, leading to vulgarities from some fans.
