NBA rumors: Insider drops Bucks Jaylen Brown trade nugget he won’t like amid Giannis Antetokounmpo talks

The Milwaukee Bucks are trying to find the perfect trade suitor for Giannis Antetokounmpo, as the Miami Heat and Boston Celtics are the two persistent teams trying to land the two-time MVP. For the Celtics, most people think that Jaylen Brown would have to be the centerpiece of the trade, but it’s also felt as if the Bucks won’t keep him.

The latest update reveals that there is a world where the Bucks keep Brown, even though he may not want to play there.

“Despite some executives around the league assuming it would be a foregone conclusion that the Bucks would try to flip Brown to another team to get future first-round draft pick compensation as part of a rebuilding effort, it’s not a certainty,” Michael Scotto of HoopsHype wrote. “If the Celtics indeed acquire Antetokounmpo and Brown ends up going to the Bucks as part of the trade, the Bucks would consider keeping Brown, HoopsHype has learned.

“It’s worth noting that ESPN’s Marc Spears said Brown wouldn’t want to play for Milwaukee. Meanwhile, Brown is locked in for $183 million over the next three seasons on his contract.”

Longtime Bucks reporter Gery Woelfel noted that the Celtics were more open to trading Brown, but it was more likely that he would be sent to a third team. Who that third team is remains the question, but there are several teams who seem to be interested in acquiring Brown.

One of the teams rumored in having interest in Brown is the Los Angeles Clippers, as well as the Portland Trail Blazers. The Bucks may be more willing to trade Brown to a third team, knowing that they could get more young players and assets in return.

Through all of this, the Heat still seems to be the team in the driver’s seat.
