With the Denver Nuggets preparing for the 2026 NBA Draft, which starts on Tuesday, the team could also be one to make a trade with its selections. As rumors surround the Nuggets on what moves they are trying to make, this NBA insider gives insight into the package that the franchise is willing to discuss.
Denver currently has the 26th overall pick in the first round of the NBA Draft, and per the latest report from HoopsHype insider Michael Scotto, the team is said to have a “willingness” to discuss a package featuring the first-round pick and Zeke Nnaji.”
“With the Denver Nuggets currently projected to be near the second apron, they’ve signaled a willingness to discuss forward Zeke Nnaji and the No. 26 pick as a trade package, league sources told HoopsHype,” Scotto wrote. “Nnaji is owed $7.47 million for the 2026-27 season and has a $7.47 million player option for the 2027-28 season.”
The Nuggets are reportedly ‘exploring’ another trade package
The Nuggets’ cap situation has been one to monitor as there has been a ton of speculation regarding many players on the team that could be traded, with such names as Aaron Gordon, Peyton Watson, Cameron Johnson, and others being mentioned. ClutchPoints’ NBA insider reported last Wednesday that the Nuggets star in Johnson and the 26th pick are also a package that Denver has been “exploring.”
“The Nuggets have been exploring what packaging Johnson with the 26th pick could get them, especially in terms of moving into the top 20 of the draft. It is hard to envision a scenario where any team in this region would want to trade their pick for Johnson and No. 26. Still, Johnson remains the likeliest player to be on the move from Denver in the coming weeks,” Siegel wrote.
At any rate, it remains to be seen if the Nuggets move around in the first round of the NBA Draft, which players would be involved, or if Denver stays pat. Either way, fans will find out on Tuesday when the first round of the NBA Draft commences.
