Sweep of Giants shockingly puts Marlins at top of MLB home wins leaderboard

The Miami Marlins continue to find wins this season, after defeating the San Francisco Giants on Sunday. Miami swept the Giants in a three-game series, to continue a strong season at home.

“Marlins sweep the Giants and are tied for the most home wins (26) in Major League Baseball. They have also won eight straight at loanDepot park,” Marlins reporter Kevin Barral posted to X, formerly Twitter.

Miami is now 40-38 on the season. The Marlins have climbed their way back in the National League East standings after a tough start to the year.

On Sunday, Miami defeated San Francisco 2-1. Starting pitcher Ryan Gusto struck out six and worked four-plus innings for Miami.

“The Marlins are above .500 this deep into the season for the first time since 2023, when the club secured a National League Wild Card berth. That season was also the last time Miami won at least 14 games in an 18-game span,” MLB.com reported on Sunday.

No one in Major League Baseball wants to play the Marlins right now. Miami is red-hot in the month of June. The club is 14-4 on the month with eight straight home wins.

The Marlins need to keep winning, to keep up the pace in a very tough NL East. Atlanta leads the division, and the Philadelphia Phillies have surged after a tough start. Miami is currently tied for third in the division on Sunday, with the Washington Nationals.

It isn’t all peaches and cream for the Marlins. Miami slugger Liam Hicks is headed to the injured list. He leads the club in home runs and RBIs. The Marlins will need other batters to step up and replace his production.

Miami next starts a series with the Texas Rangers on Monday.
