LeBron James, Kevin Love parody The Hangover in iconic 2016 Cavs championship team reunion

Some of the players from the 2016 championship-winning Cleveland Cavs team, including LeBron James, Kevin Love, JR Smith, and Tristan Thompson, recently reunited and paid homage to The Hangover movies.

They spoofed the final scene of The Hangover Part II. Love is holding a phone and says, “Alright, fellas, one last time and then we’re destroying this.”

All of the players nod in agreement as a montage starts of their recent reunion. They appeared to be having the time of their lives, hanging out, eating food, and goofing off.

The 2016 Cavaliers team did the impossible in the NBA Finals. Now, a decade later, they are still celebrating their accomplishment.

They were down 3-1 to the Golden State Warriors in the NBA Finals. However, they found a way to win the last three games of the series, becoming the first and only team (so far) to ever come back from a 3-1 deficit.

James was named Finals MVP for his efforts. This was also his first championship with the Cavs, the team that drafted him in 2003. He had previously won two championships with the Miami Heat superteam that also featured Dwayne Wade and Chris Bosh.

This remains the Cavaliers’ only championship. They reached the Eastern Conference Finals in 2026, but were swept by the eventual champions, the New York Knicks.

One year before the 3-1 comeback, the Cavs lost to the Warriors in the Finals in six games. The teams would square off in the Finals in the next two years, but the drama that made the 2016 series iconic wasn’t there.

The Warriors, who had acquired Kevin Durant since their last Finals appearance, won the 2017 NBA Finals in five games. One year later, the Warriors swept the Cavs to win another title.

James would join the Los Angeles Lakers in 2018, and they would win a title in 2020, which marked his 10th NBA Finals appearance and fourth win.
