With the Tampa Bay Rays looking to shock the MLB world, as they continue to make noise in the AL East, one piece that is looking to find a consistent role with the team is veteran pitcher Craig Kimbrel. As Kimbrel dealt with injuries to start his Rays stint, he would speak now about his experience with his new ball club.
Speaking on “Foul Territory,” the 38-year-old would be asked if Kimbrel is chasing something in the league, or if he is giving something to the game. Kimbrel would take it in a different direction, saying that the MLB is still giving a lot to him, especially through experiences with his family.
“I think the game is still giving a lot to me, I mean, I have the opportunity to share the things that I’ve learned, but, man, I’m getting so much back from the guys I’m getting the experience each and every day with,” Kimbrel said. “Getting to bring my kids in here and then let them experience, you know, Daddy being a big leaguer, and, and what it is to learn manners and how to be around a group of guys that are in here working.”:
“Just all those little things that I’ve really started to enjoy over the last couple of years, just being able to bring my family in here and letting them be a part of it, and it’s very gratifying, and I enjoy it every single day, and if I can wake up tomorrow and come back in here and do it again, I’d say it’s good day,” Kimbrel continued.
Craig Kimbrel believes the game is still giving a lot to him, even after pitching in 16 big league seasons before this year.
