Los Angeles Dodgers star Kyle Tucker recently suffered a back injury concern, as he is dealing with back spasms. The Dodgers are hopeful the injury is not serious, but it remains to be seen whether or not Tucker will end up landing on the injured list. Tucker does not expect to land on the IL, which is something he said before Tuesday’s game against the Minnesota Twins, via Fabian Ardaya of The Athletic.
“Kyle Tucker said he’s ‘pretty confident’ he will be able to avoid the injured list. Said he’s feeling better than yesterday, but can still feel it a little in his back when he’s trying to rotate. He did not go for imaging,” Ardaya reported.
Tucker, 29, signed with the Dodgers this past offseason. The four-time All-Star has struggled to begin his Dodgers career, but he is still an impactful player. Overall, the outfielder is hitting .234/.333/.374 across 75 games played. Tucker has six home runs, 16 doubles and two triples as well.
The Dodgers have performed well despite battling a plethora of injury concerns. Los Angeles is set to enter its game on Tuesday night against the Twins with the best record in baseball, as the team is 50-29 overall. With that being said, the Dodgers are obviously hopeful that Tucker will not have to go on the injured list.
Updates on Kyle Tucker’s injury status will continue to be monitored and provided as they are made available. Meanwhile, the Dodgers and Twins will play at Target Field on Tuesday night at 7:40 PM EST.
