As BYU star AJ Dybantsa prepares for the 2026 NBA Draft on Tuesday night, the feeling from most is that his name will be called with the No. 1 overall pick by the Washington Wizards. While Dybantsa appears to be locked in with the Wizards, he would drop a message about himself that sets him up for success.
Speaking to NBA TV before the start of the first round, he spoke about why he needs to hear his name called with the first overall selection.
“I’ve been number one my whole life, so I don’t plan on dropping in this draft,” Dybantsa said.
