New body cam footage shows UFC’s Dustin Poirier getting into a heated altercation with a police officer before his arrest.
Poirier was arrested on Sunday, June 21, at Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport. The body cam footage was released on Tuesday, June 23, and showed Poirier seemingly in an intoxicated state, per TMZ.
“Let’s go, big dog. Let’s go, big dog. What’s up? Buncha h**s. Let’s go. Let’s go. F***in’ lying motherf****r. Yeah, pulled me off the plane, all my boys went to the f***in’ crib. Now, what the f***?” Dustin screamed at the airport official.
The officer then asked the UFC champion, “Are you Dustin Poirier?”
Poirier seemingly got more agitated and responded: “Man, f*** you, bro.”
While the officer began to calm Poirier down, it didn’t work, and he began to go into a fighting pose against the officer.
“Man, f*** you and f*** her and f*** her. I’ll fight you right now,” Poirier said.
An airport employee overheard the disagreement and reached out to the officer and Poirier for support. The lightweight legend reacted in a more calm tone, “Yeah, tell ’em. Tell ’em. Come on. ‘Cause it’s gonna be bad, It’s gonna be bad, my n****.”
He then told the airport employee, “Pound it, pound it. You did a great job. You did what you could.”
Poirier was later booked on Sunday into the Clayton County Jail on a misdemeanor charge of public drunkenness around 6:38 p.m. ET. The UFC star was in a holding cell for a few hours and then was released on bail later that evening.
On Monday, June 22, he took to social media to speak to fans about the incident.
“Love you all I’m working on my self,” Poirier wrote on his Instagram Story.
