How much ABC, ESPN plan on showing Donald Trump during Knicks-Spurs Game 3

As President Donald Trump prepares to attend Game 3 of the NBA Finals at Madison Square Garden, many wonder whether he will be featured on the broadcast throughout the Knicks’ run to the NBA Finals. ABC and ESPN have highlighted the former players and celebrities in attendance at the game.

Per a report by Front Office Sports’ Ryan Glasspiegel, ESPN and ABC also plan to show Trump during the game’s broadcast, should he be visible.

“Source tells @FOS that yes, ESPN/ABC plans to show President Trump during Game 3 of Knicks-Spurs tonight at MSG, in line with how they always show current/former presidents at sporting events. (Caveat applies – as long as he’s visible for the cameras).”

Trump, in his time back in office, has appeared at several sporting events, including Super Bowl LIX, the 126th edition of the Army-Navy Game, and various UFC events. He confirmed that he would be attending Game 3 of the NBA Finals in a media availability last week.

“The answer is yes,” Trump said. “[Dolan] has invited me, and I’m going. I’ll be there. It could be Monday. Maybe I’ll do both [Game 3 and Game 4]… “[The Knicks] find a way to do it. They’re really great, a great team. I’m happy for Jim [Dolan] because Jim has really been fighting hard to produce such a team.”

Due to Trump’s appearance, various security protocols have been implemented. Madison Square Garden is enforcing a no-bag policy and has canceled traditional watch parties for Knicks fans outside the venue. Fans are also encouraged to arrive two hours early for the game to be screened for entry.
