Cameron Boozer was taken with the #3 pick by the Memphis Grizzlies in Monday night’s NBA Draft, after Washington took BYU’s AJ Dybantsa, and Utah chose Kansas’s Darryn Peterson second.

It’s a good situation for Boozer. He’ll be on a frontline with 7-4 Zach Edey, who is even stronger, and who can back him up a lot on defense.

Memphis also seems to have a smart front office, and as we’ve said, being on a well-managed team is more important than where you are actually selected.

It seems like a great spot for him.

On a side note, we’ve never seen his dad, Carlos, smile as much, or as broadly, as he did during ESPN’s warmup show. That was really nice to see as well.

Memphis is not a fully set team. They’re widely expected to trade Ja Morant, and while his stock is down, they should still get something useful back out of that trade, whenever it happens.
