There was a ton of buzz that the Golden State Warriors may trade the No. 11 overall pick in the 2026 NBA Draft. However, it appears the club decided not to deal the pick away and instead used it to select a former Michigan Wolverines star.
Leading up to the pick, reports indicated that the front office was fielding offers while on the clock, according to NBA insider Jake Fischer. It is currently unknown which teams were reaching out to the Warriors at this time.
“The Warriors are fielding offers for the No. 11 pick, per source,” reported Fischer.
In the end, Golden State submitted its selection and officially picked Yaxel Lendeborg No. 11 overall. The Warriors find a new, exciting rookie to play alongside Stephen Curry.
“LIGHTING UP THE BAY,” said the ClutchPoints social page on X. “The Golden State Warriors have selected Yaxel Lendeborg with the 11th pick in the 2026 NBA Draft!”
Reports indicate that the Warriors were between Arizona guard Brayden Burries and Michigan forward Yaxel Lendeborg all along, per insider Brett Siegel. When Burries was taken No. 10 overall to the Milwaukee Bucks, Golden State decided to go with Lendeborg after trade talks failed to materialize.
“It was always going to come down to Burries and Lendeborg for the Warriors,” claimed Siegel. “Once Burries was off the board, and a couple of markers likely thrown in the Warriors’ office, they land on Lendeborg after no real trades materialized for this pick, sources told ClutchPoints.”
