The Los Angeles Lakers made a move in the NBA Draft on Tuesday after trading for the No. 24 pick of the New York Knicks in exchange for cash considerations. With the deal, the Lakers moved up a spot on the board.
With how talent-heavy this year’s draft class is, moving up, even for one spot, could be highly beneficial.
The Lakers used the No. 24 pick on Baylor guard Cameron Carr, who is among the most intriguing wing prospects because of his explosiveness, athleticism, and length.
ClutchPoints’ Brett Siegel deemed him a win for the Purple and Gold.
“The Lakers have moved up one spot to No. 24 overall and are taking Cameron Carr. What a steal for the Lakers,” wrote Siegel on X.
In his lone stint at Baylor, Carr averaged 18.9 points, 5.8 rebounds, 2.6 assists, and 1.3 blocks. He played two years at Tennessee before transferring to the Bears.
In Los Angeles, he will be reunited with Dalton Knecht, who was his teammate at Tennessee.
More details to come.
