It’s unfathomable that 23 years have passed since the Cleveland Cavaliers selected LeBron James first overall in the NBA Draft. James is not the superstar he once was, but he’s still playing at an elite level these days for the Los Angeles Lakers, which is hard to believe when he’s already 41 years of age.
James is a major draft success story, as he was able to match the hype and then some after becoming one of the greatest NBA players of all time, if not outright the greatest. He was being touted as the greatest draft prospect in history, and it took a lot of mental fortitude, dedication, and hard work for him to rise to the challenge.
However, the Lakers star doesn’t quite like the decision he made 23 years ago to wear the all white suit, as that image of him wearing that blindingly bright ensemble has now become immortalized.
“It won’t leave me. It’s like Casper the Friendly Ghost. It’s ’round this time, the draft comes up, the first thing that comes up, LeBron’s draft day suit. Rest in peace to the late David Stern, him trying on my jacket in the back. Literally, he just got lost right away,” James said in the latest episode of the Mind the Game podcast.
23 years later, @KingJames regrets rocking the all-white suit.

James’ draft day suit didn’t exactly fit him well. What he wore ended up being baggy and hilarious to look at, but perhaps that was a product of his time, what with baggy shirts and jeans being all the rage back then.
Whatever the case may be, James’ fashion sense has kept up with the times, and there is no way that the Lakers star will be found anywhere wearing anything that doesn’t fit him perfectly. With age comes wisdom, and that includes being able to put together more aesthetically appealing clothing ensembles.
