Yankees clubhouse having fun with Jazz Chisholm Jr’s lollipop habit after game-winning homer

New York Yankees second baseman Jazz Chisholm got into some hot water when he was caught enjoying a lollipop in the field. But after his heroics on Tuesday, the franchise decided to have some fun with the situation.

The Yankees came away with a 4-3 victory over the Detroit Tigers. After the game, the media was serenaded by Lil Wayne classic Lollipop. A not so subtle nod at Chisholm and his infield snack, via Greg Joyce of the New York Post.

““Lollipop” by Lil Wayne was playing in the Yankees clubhouse as reporters got in.” Joyce wrote.

Detroit got out to a 2-0 lead after the third inning. But in the sixth, a two-run home run from Chisholm gave New York a 3-2 lead. That was all the Yankees needed, as they ultimately came away with a 4-3 victory.

Through his first 75 games in 2026, Chisholm is now hitting .230 with 12 home runs, 33 RBIs and 23 stolen bases. He is well on his way to a 20/20 if not a 30/30 season, barring any injuries. At the very least, New York will be relying on their second baseman to remain a crucial part of the lineup.

When it comes to the lollipop situation, it seems as if it has now been handled behind closed doors. It doesn’t seem likely that Chisholm will be having any more infield snacks. Ultimately, the Yankees are focused solely on winning.

Their latest moved New York to 47-31 on the season, giving them a three game advantage in the AL East. Perhaps the only thing sweeter than a lollipop for the Yankees would be World Series glory.
