Austin Reaves was near the green when he got the green.
The Lakers star’s girlfriend, Jenna Barber, showed on her Instagram Stories on Wednesday that Reaves was out on the golf course when he learned Los Angeles was offering him a maximum four-year, $185 million contract.
In a photo Barber shared, Reaves could be seen laying down next to a fairway bunker appearing to be in disbelief with his hands over his head.
In a separate post, Barber also shared a photoshopped image of Reaves with a bunch of money around him and the headline, “$185M / 4YR.”
“Our place!!!” she wrote in a caption while adding three purple heart emojis.
Reaves’ basketball future was in question before he began his round on Wednesday, as after he declined his $14.9 million player option, he was slated to be an unrestricted free agent next month.
However, Reaves will now remain in LA for the foreseeable future on a deal that’s the richest ever for an undrafted player.
Reaves began his NBA career with the Lakers in 2021, and he had his breakout season in 2022, when averaged 13 points per game in 22 starts.
He’s really blossomed in his last two seasons, averaging more than 20 points per game while totaling more than five assists per contest as well.
