The EA Sports College Football 27 Player Ratings have arrived, and we wanted to take a look at the top 10 best player ratings in the game. Of course, the game’s main three cover athletes all earned a spot in the top 10. But who else joins them on launch day as some of the best players in the game? Therefore, we created this list of the top 10 best players in the game for your convenience. Without further ado, let’s dive right in.
College Football 27 Player Ratings – Who Are The Top 10 Best Players at Launch?
At launch, the top 10 best College Football 27 player ratings belong to:
- Jeremiah Smith (WR, Ohio State) – 99 OVR
- Carter Smth (LT, Indiana) – 97 OVR
- Leonard Moore (CB, Notre Dame) – 97 OVR
- Ahmad Hardy (HB, Missouri) – 96 OVR
- Cayden Green (LT, Missouri) – 96 OVR
- Kewan Lacy (HB, Ole Miss) – 96 OVR
- Malachi Toney (WR, Miami) – 96 OVR
- Colin Simmons (REDG, Texas) – 95 OVR
- Dante Moore (QB, Oregon) – 95 OVR
- Kade Piper (C, Iowa) – 95 OVR
Ohio State WR Jeremiah Smith is the highest-rated College Football 27 player at launch. The College Football 26 cover athlete had a stellar 2025 campaign, leaving him as one of the best players to use in the game. Smith is likely going to the NFL after this season, so if you want to play with him, you may want to start a Dynasty with OSU.
How did our cover athletes fare? Kewan Lacy, Malachi Toney, and Dante Moore rank 6th, 7th, and 9th, respectively. Despite making the cover, none of these athletes rank just outside the top 5. But to be fair, Toney and Lacy share the same ratings as Cayden Green and Ahmad Hardy.
Furthermore, Moore is also the highest-rated QB in College 27, and the only QB on the list. The Ducks’ starting QB is expected to have an even bigger season this year as Oregon hopes to win it all in the Natty.
Colin Simmons is the one of two defensive players to make the top 10, boasting a 95 OVR at launch. Simmons is coming off a 12 sack season including 15.5 tackles for a loss (both career highs). He also forced three fumbles, further supplementing his status as a top player.
Meanwhile, three offensive linemen made the list this year. Indiana’s Carter Smith is the highest-rated lineman and the second highest rated player in the game. He’s joined by CB Leonard Moore, the highest-rated defensive player in CFB 27.
Now don’t worry too much if you don’t agree with these ratings. EA Sports tends to release roster updates throughout the year which reflect the performances in the league. So if Dante Moore starts the season hot, he’ll likely climb up the ratings ladder. Conversely, a player may fall off the top 10 list if they fail to live up to expectations.
Overall, that includes the College Football 27 top 10 player ratings at launch. Feel free to check the full list to see how your favorite player fares this season. We can’t wait to see how these ratings change throughout the season.
College Football 27 adds new gameplay features while heavily expanding its Dynasty Mode. NIL plays a bigger role than ever before, and there’s much more to do to keep your team afloat. Regardless, watch out for these players on gameday, who will definitely make an impact on the virtual field.
