HBCU star Aaron Nkrumah signs with Nuggets as undrafted free agent

After going unselected in the 2026 NBA Draft, former Tennessee State star Aaron Nkrumah has signed with the Denver Nuggets as an undrafted free agent, according to a report by ClutchPoints Senior NBA Reporter Brett Siegel.

“Tennessee State guard Aaron Nkrumah is signing an Exhibit-10 Contract with the Denver Nuggets, league sources told @ClutchPoints,” Siegel posted to his X account on Thursday morning. “Nkrumah will now compete for one of Denver’s open two-way roster spots after being a standout throughout the pre-draft process.”

Nkrumah’s agreement with Denver is an Exhibit 10 contract, a one-year, minimum-salary deal that allows teams to convert the player to a two-way contract before the regular season begins. If he is waived and later joins the Nuggets’ G League affiliate, he could also receive a bonus for spending a designated amount of time with the organization.

The opportunity comes after Nkrumah emerged as one of the Ohio Valley Conference’s top all-around players during the 2025-26 season at Tennessee State. The 6-foot-6 guard averaged 17.8 points, 5.6 rebounds and 2.8 assists per game while earning a reputation as one of the conference’s premier perimeter defenders. He led the OVC with 2.9 steals per game and recorded 87 steals on the season, ranking among the nation’s leaders.

Nkrumah’s breakout season helped earn him an invitation to the NBA G League Elite Camp, where he played his way into the NBA Draft Combine. He continued to impress against top competition, highlighted by a 31-point performance that included three made 3-pointers, helping strengthen his case as an NBA prospect.
