The Chicago Cubs have been playing some solid baseball of late, recently scoring 10 runs in two straight games against the New York Mets on the road to push their record to 42-37 on the season. During a game earlier this week against New York, Dansby Swanson was the hero as the designated hitter, launching two home runs, one of which was a grand slam, in the team’s victory.
Now, Swanson is putting his acting chops on display in a commercial alongside his wife Mallory Swanson, who is a soccer player for the Chicago Stars FC.

Swanson has been a big piece for the Cubs ever since joining them during the 2022 offseason after he departed from his hometown Atlanta Braves. While he has been streaky at times this season, Swanson appears to be rounding into form at the right time as the season nears the All-Star break.
Meanwhile, the Cubs have been a roller coaster as a whole so far in 2026. Early on in the season, Chicago stormed out of the gates and threatened to be among the leaders in the NL standings. However, the team then hit a brick wall in the month of May, losing ten straight games and falling out of the playoff race altogether.
However, Chicago has since rebounded a bit, thanks in part to a softer chunk of schedule, and sits tied for second place in the NL Central with the St. Louis Cardinals, seven games behind the Milwaukee Brewers for first.
The Cubs will next hit the field on Thursday evening for the final game of their series against the Mets at 7:10 pm ET from New York City.
