New York’s 13-game playoff winning streak Knicks’d with Donald Trump in attendance

The New York Knicks came into Monday night’s Game 3 of the NBA Finals as one of the hottest teams in NBA playoff history. Prior to Game 3 against the San Antonio Spurs, the Knicks had won 13 consecutive playoff games, the second longest streak in NBA history behind only the 2017 Golden State Warriors. That team, led by Kevin Durant and Stephen Curry, won 15 consecutive games.

Fans were upset when they heard that Donald Trump would be attending Game 3 due to the fact that an acting commander in chief has never attended an NBA Finals game and because of the immense security measures that would’ve come with it.

Well, Trump attended Game 3 anyways, sending Madison Square Garden and the areas outside of it into a security frenzy starting in the afternoon.

People on social media thought Trump shouldn’t attend because the Knicks vibes were at an all-time high. His attendance also meant the cancellation of all watch parties and celebrations outside of Madison Square Garden, which fans weren’t happy about.

Even before the game tipped off, fans vehemently booed Donald Trump when he was shown during the national anthem.

With Donald Trump in attendance, the Knicks officially went on to lose Game 3, 115-111. Victor Wembanyama recorded 32 points, eight rebounds, six assists, two steals, and three blocked shots in the victory while shooting 11-of-18 from the field and 8-of-9 from the free throw line. Stephon Castle added 21 points, five rebounds, and five assists for the Spurs.

Jalen Brunson recorded 32 points with five rebounds and five assists, but struggled shooting once again at just 11-of-25 from the field. Karl-Anthony Towns also struggled in Game 3, finishing with 11 points, eight rebounds, and three steals on 4-of-10 shooting.

Well, after the game, here’s a look at some reactions around the sports world:

Game 4 of the NBA Finals will be Wednesday night back at Madison Square Garden at 8:30PM EST.
