In his recovery from an ACL injury, Golden State Warriors forward Jimmy Butler provided fans with an encouraging update ahead of the 2026-27 season.
For the first time in a while, Butler says he feels like his old self again, and will be ready for the Warriors’ upcoming regular season, he said, per ESPN’s Anthony Slater.
“I’m right back to who I’ve always been,” Butler told ESPN. “Probably better if we was to really talk about it. I know I’m still going to be a top player whenever I get back. I have a couple good years left in me, and we’re going to ride it until the wheels fall off.”
For many fans, the Warriors are gearing up for one final run after drafting Yaxel Lendeborg, who’s projected to be one of the more NBA-ready rookie this season. The Warriors also agreed to terms on contract extensions for centers Kristaps Porzingis and Al Horford, both of whom were two significant catalysts of the Boston Celtics’ championship run in 2024.
Jimmy Butler’s optimistic take after rehab before Warriors’ 2026-27 season

After missing most of the 2026-27 season, Warriors forward Jimmy Butler is looking forward to a bounce-back year in what he hopes will be his first full healthy season since his trade from the Heat, per The Atheltic’s Nick Friedell.
“Jimmy says he’s doing well in his rehab. He’s about a month and a half away from running again. He’s hoping to have the team back down to his San Diego area home before training camp starts again,” Friedell reported.
Rookie Yaxel Lendeborg and the Warriors will begin their summer league schedule in July.
