Mark Cuban follows in Aaron Rodgers’ footsteps with US Olympic Women’s Flag Football investment

After NFL quarterback Aaron Rodgers invested in the US Olympic Women’s Flag Football, Dallas Mavericks minority owner Mark Cuban has joined him.

It’s being reported that Cuban has made a “philanthropic investment” in USA Football. This will support the women’s flag football team ahead of the sport’s Olympic debut during the 2028 Summer Games.

Previously, the Pittsburgh Steelers quarterback similarly made a donation to the sport, helping further its momentum ahead of the 2028 Olympics.

Rodgers made the contribution ahead of his second season with the Steelers, and 22nd overall in the NFL. He spent most of his career with the Green Bay Packers, who drafted him in the first round of the 2005 NFL Draft. Rodgers played for the New York Jets for two seasons. They won just five games in his only full season with them in 2024. He missed most of 2023 with a torn Achilles injury.

The 2028 Olympics will feature flag football as an official sport for the first time. Two events will be held, one for men and one for women.

Before it was made an official Olympic sport, flag football was part of the 2022 and 2025 World Games. That gave the sport an even wider audience before making the jump to the Summer Games.

Flag football has become immensely popular in recent years. Fanatics recently hosted the Flag Football Classic in March 2026. The games featured star NFL players (past and current) like Tom Brady, Jalen Hurts, and Saquon Bark,ey. Several celebrities, such as Logan Paul and IShowSpeed, were also part of the games.

Kevin Hart hosted the event, which was played at BMO Stadium, the same site where the game will be played at the 2028 Summer Olympics.
