Pittsburgh Pirates star Oneil Cruz was scratched from the team’s lineup on Tuesday against the Los Angeles Dodgers due to recurrent left hand discomfort, the team announced.
“Oneil Cruz was scratched from tonight’s starting lineup due to recurrent left hand discomfort. He is currently being examined and treated by the club’s medical staff. His status is day-to-day,” the Pirates wrote on X, formerly Twitter.
For the Dodgers, Will Smith also remained out of the lineup as he continues to deal with a stiff neck. Both teams are battling injury concerns at the moment, which could certainly impact the outcome of Tuesday’s contest.
