Fans roast Golden Knights’ Carter Hart amid brutal Game 4 start vs. Hurricanes

Carter Hart is a big reason why the Vegas Golden Knights are competing in the Stanley Cup Final, but he could also be a big reason why they leave T-Mobile Arena in a 2-2 series tie with the Carolina Hurricanes. The veteran goalie stumbled badly during the first period of Game 4, allowing three goals on 14 shot attempts.

Unsurprisingly, he is getting peppered with criticism on social media. Many are calling for head coach John Tortorella to take action amid a 3-1 deficit.

“Idk how you keep Carter Hart in at this point,” @whotouchmyspagt remarked on X. “Carter Hart is the least intimidating goalie I’ve ever seen in this sport,” @AduhneenThinks opined. “Do you pull carter hart? He’s been terrible the last 2 periods lol,” @streetsweeper_0 commented.

Hart has elicited copious skepticism despite making valuable contributions in net at various points during the 2026 Stanley Cup Playoffs, and it appears those suspicions have been somewhat validated against the Hurricanes. The 27-year-old Canadian has now surrendered 15 goals in the Final at time of print. In other words, his days as Vegas’ starter could be numbered.

Fortunately for Hart, the Golden Knights have displayed amazing resilience throughout the postseason. No deficit seems safe when this squad is on the ice. Though, the same can be said for the relentless Hurricanes. If Vegas is going to have a shot at pulling off another thrilling comeback, it will need competent goalie play. Is Hart up to the challenge?

Everyone will soon have their answer. Game 4 rolls on in The Entertainment Capital of the World.
