John Tortorella is not thrilled to participate in press conferences even under optimal conditions, so he presumably had little patience following Tuesday night’s 5-3 home loss versus the Carolina Hurricanes. Add in a technical mishap, and one can only imagine how the Vegas Golden Knights head coach was feeling during this obligatory media session.
The microphone fell off its stand while Tortorella was answering a reporter’s question, per the Queen of the Puck X account. He waited for someone to fix the problem and then resumed speaking without even referencing the situation. With the Stanley Cup Final now tied at two games apiece and shifting back to the Lenovo Center for a pivotal showdown this Thursday, the 2004 champion does not want to waste time fiddling with a temperamental mic.
He wants to get back to work. Tortorella was much calmer in the aftermath of this defeat, however. He complimented his squad’s overall effort but lamented the sloppy play on Jordan Staal’s go-ahead goal, which occurred six and a half minutes into the third period.
This was priceless
