Gregoritsch displayed true sporting integrity during Augsburg's Matchday 28 Bundesliga clash with Hamburg. When the centre-forward appeared to have been felled by Fábio Vieira on the edge of the box, referee Deniz Aytekin awarded a free-kick in a very dangerous position.
However, Gregoritsch intervened, telling the official that there was no foul and that the free-kick should be rescinded. As a result, Aytekin changed his initial decision, with Vieira subsequently praising his opponent in his post-match interview.
Fan votes accounted for 40 percent of the overall total with 30 percent from clubs and a further 30 percent from experts, such as Bundesliga legends.
