Josh Allen tears up as Patircia Allen Fund surpasses $17 million raised

The impact of the Patricia Allen Fund, founded by Buffalo Bills quarterback Josh Allen in honor of his late grandmother, can be felt as it surpasses $17 million in donations in just over five years.

Tyler Dunne of Go Long spoke with Allen for a lengthy interview. At one point, they talked about the Patricia Allen Fund, which has raised more than $17 million from 90,000 donors around the world. This offseason, he was approached by a mother who told the former NFL MVP that the equipment purchased through the charity saved her child’s life. Dunne notes that he began tearing up, and he had to “clear his throat to keep it together.”

“The coolest frickin’ thing in the world,” he said of the foundation. “You have this mentality of leaving a better place than when you found it. My Dad’s always said that, too: ‘If you’re going to do something, do it with all your heart.’ That’s what I feel like I’m doing.”

In 2020, Allen’s grandmother passed away. He then founded the Patricia Allen Fund, which quickly exceeded $1 million in donations, thanks in large part to a donor named Sue McCollum, who gave $217,000.

The foundation lends help to the “critical care teams” at Golisano Children’s Hospital of Buffalo in New York. 100% of the donations are used towards the “critical care” that the hospital provides.

Allen is already heading into his ninth year in the NFL. The Bills are coming off a second-round exit at the hands of the Denver Broncos. They beat the Jacksonville Jaguars in the Wild Card Round before losing to the Broncos the following week.

Throughout his career, he has been named to four Pro Bowls. He is also a two-time Second-team All-Pro player, and he won the NFL MVP in 2024.
