Los Angeles Dodgers catcher Will Smith is still dealing with a stiff neck. He is going to miss his fourth consecutive game on Wednesday against the Pittsburgh Pirates. The Dodgers released infielder Tyler Fitzgerald on Wednesday, a move that suggested LA may be looking to clear space on the 40-man roster for another catcher. Sure enough, Smith is “likely” going to be placed on the IL, according to Bill Plunkett.
The move is not official, but it seems like Smith is going to land on the injured list. It also remains to be seen when the move — assuming it does happen — will become official.
