LeBron James has one album that has been in heavy rotation lately, and not too much of a surprise to fans, it’s not Drake’s Iceman.
During a recent interview with Time, LeBron shared that there’s a certain rapper that has his attention when it comes to soundtracking his time off from the court.
“What am I listening to right now? J. Cole. His whole album, The Fall-Off,” James said without hesitation.

His answer is not too surprising given his former relationship with Drake, who used the release of Iceman to get a few things off his chest.
On the track, “Make Them Remember,” Drake raps, “I shouldn’t even be shocked to see you in that arena, because you always made your career for switching teams up.”
The line is in reference to LeBron seemingly switching up on him, as she was seen rapping lyrics to Kendrick Lamar’s “Not Like Us,” which was aimed at Drake during their 2024 rap feud. The Los Angeles star also was seen supporting Kendrick during “The Pop Out” concert in Los Angeles back in 2024.
Drake also referenced their friendship on “1 AM in Albany” when he raps, “Please stop asking what’s going on with 23 and me,” adding, “he’s not, it’s in my DNA,” which references LeBron’s jersey number and Kendrick Lamar’s 2017 hit song “DNA.”
LeBron’s support of Cole’s The Fall Off however does not come as a surprise given that he went viral for holding the album shortly after its release in February 2026 ahead of the Lakers and Miami Heat game.
“On his way, he had The Fall-Off vinyl — he brought it so I could sign it,” Cole said of the NBA game on Carmelo Anthony’s podcast 7pm in Brooklyn.
The Grammy-winning rapper was planning to attend a Lakers and Miami Heat game with his children and wanted the NBA star to meet them as they are huge fans.
“My oldest is getting into basketball, Bron is his No. 1, and I hit Bron and he graciously said he would do it,” Cole said.
Cole said the moment meant a lot to him and that he was grateful to Bron for being able to make that core memory for his kids.
“This man was doing me a solid. … Bro, that s— was the craziest feeling like to see your kids like meet a superhero — that was my first time ever doing some s— like that,” Cole said.
“And it made me appreciate all the times that there was a father or something that had their kid and I get to sign … or autograph or take a picture. I like ‘Oh my god.’ I hear the father in my mind, ‘Man, I really appreciate this bro, thank you.’ But now that I’ve been through it, I’m like, ‘Oh, I know what he meant now.’ … You gave my son a lifelong memory, so shoutout to Bron for that.”
