What Mitch Johnson told Spurs after devastating Game 4 loss to Knicks

There are probably not a lot of words to fully describe what the San Antonio Spurs must be feeling right now after their monumental meltdown against the New York Knicks in Game 4 of the NBA Finals on Wednesday.

The Spurs blew a 29-point lead, and the Knicks completed the biggest comeback in finals history, 107-106, turning Madison Square Garden into absolute bedlam.

San Antonio will wallow in despair in the coming days, ruing everything that went wrong.

Spurs coach Mitch Johnson revealed what he said to his players after the debilitating defeat, as reported by ClutchPoints’ Brett Siegel.

“I told them to feel the emotion tonight. (But) they better be ready to play in two nights and win,” said Johnson.

Johnson himself must be grasping for the right words to reassure his players that they can still pull off a miracle against the Knicks.

The Spurs are a young team, and growing pains are par for the course. They may be down, but they are not yet out.

Game 5 returns to Frost Bank Center on Saturday.

More details to come.
