USMNT’s Tyler Adams in disbelief after unbelievable ending to Knicks-Spurs Game 4

The USMNT is getting ready for its 2026 World Cup opener on Friday against Group D-mate Paraguay. Despite the pressure-packed days ahead of them, Tyler Adams and the rest of the team still took time to watch the New York Knicks take on the San Antonio Spurs in Game 4 of the NBA Finals. And when OG Anunoby tipped in the game-winner, New York-native Adams and the rest of his squad lost their minds.

Adams grew up in Wappingers Falls, New York, and started his professional career in the New York Red Bulls Academy. He’s been a lifelong Knicks fan, so it’s no surprise he went wild when his team took the lead to ultimately go up 3-1 in the series.

From the video, it looked like quite a fun, bonding moment for a team that is about to not only play in, but host the World Cup. Goalkeeper Matt Turner is seen recording the scenes with two phones as Brenden Aaronson jumps up and down behind the couch. Other players, like Antonee Robinson and Max Arfsten, are also seen celebrating wildly.

The one thing U.S. fans will not like to see is injured defender Chris Richards jumping onto and rolling off of the celebratory pile. All’s well that ends well, but two days before the start of the World Cup, watching your star defender, who is nursing an injury, going that hard in a dogpile will make you nervous.

Now, it’s Tyler Adams and the USMNT’s turn to make magic as they try to improve on their best World Cup finish in the modern era, which was the quarterfinals in 2002. The last time the tournament was in the U.S. (1994), the team made the Round of 16 before exiting after a 1-0 loss to Brazil.
