If you still do not appreciate the game and guts of New York Knicks guard Jalen Brunson, it is either one of only two things: 1. You are a fool or 2. You are a cigarette butt.
There is probably no better feeling for a competitor than to silence the naysayers and turn them into believers. That is exactly what Brunson has done amid his logic-defying run in the playoffs and the NBA Finals.
The 6-foot-2 guard carried the Knicks to victory against the San Antonio Spurs, 107-106, in Game 4 at Madison Square Garden on Wednesday, tallying a game-high 36 points, five rebounds, seven assists, and three steals.
His valiant performance, including back-to-back critical buckets in the last 2:21 of the hectic contest, earned him an apology from Golden State Warriors forward Draymond Green.
“I want to tell you now because I want to tell it to your face, and then I’ll say it publicly after. But I want to apologize in one game,” said Green, who was a guest analyst on “Inside the NBA.”
“So I will say it now to your face: I’m sorry. Then I will say it when you go and get your ring: I apologize.”

Before the NBA Finals, Green went on his podcast and agreed with the now-infamous remark of WNBA legend Becky Hammon that Brunson cannot lead a team to the championship because of his size.
Green, a four-time champion, doubled down on it, adding: “Prove me wrong!”
Well, Brunson has done that and more. Now, the Knicks, who are 14-1 in their last 15 outings, are just a win away from capturing the title for the first time in 53 years. Not to mention, Brunson could be named Finals MVP.
Green should print an apology form and make two copies. Hammon would need one as well.
