Milwaukee Brewers right-handed pitcher Quinn Priester is still recovering from thoracic outlet syndrome. Priester previously had his rehab assignment shifted, and now he is reportedly being returned from his rehab assignment and will remain on the injured list, according to Adam McCalvy of MLB.com.
“Seems like not great news for Quinn Priester: He’s been returned from rehab assignment again and remains on the IL. He had been pitching in rookie ball in Arizona,” McCalvy reported on Thursday.
Priester likely will not return to the Brewers’ starting rotation anytime soon barring unforeseen circumstances. Fans immediately began asking the same question about Priester and the Brewers on McCalvy’s post on X, formerly Twitter.
“Every day he doesn’t get shut down is another day of malpractice by the Brewers,” one fan wrote.
“Why aren’t they just shutting him down,” another fan added.
“Just shut him down and get the surgery,” a third fan wrote.
Fans clearly want the Brewers to shut Priester down for now. They would rather see him return down the road and be fully healthy.
Priester, 25, last appeared at the MLB level in 2025, when he turned in a strong 3.32 ERA across 29 total games pitched (24 starts). He has made eight total minor league starts this year, but the right-handed hurler has recorded a 15.75 ERA during that span.
The Brewers will continue to monitor and provide updates on Quinn Priester as they are made available. Meanwhile, the Brewers will continue to prepare for their upcoming series at home against the Philadelphia Phillies this weekend.
