Caitlin Clark finds herself closing in on WNBA legend Diana Taurasi following her performance in the Indiana Fever’s victory over the Phoenix Mercury on Saturday night.
Clark is progressing through the third season of her career with the Fever. After going though injuries last year, she is enjoying better health as she has been more productive on the court this campaign.
Clark has a strong knack for scoring at a high volume, especially when it comes to knocking down 3-pointers. That was certainly the case throughout Indiana’s clash with Phoenix.
In 36 minutes of action, Clark finished with 25 points, five assists, three rebounds, and one block. She shot 10-of-17 from the field, including 5-of-10 from beyond the arc. Her efforts allowed her to record the 10th game of making five triples in a game, trailing only Taurasi’s mark of 25 games, via ESPN Insights.

How Caitlin Clark, Fever played against Mercury
Caitlin Clark enjoyed a great night as she led the Fever to a solid road win over the Mercury.
Five players scored in double-digits for Indiana in the win, including Clark. Kelsey Mitchell delivered a solid night with 19 points, five assists, two rebounds, and a steal. Aliyah Boston came next with 13 points and 11 rebounds, Sophie Cunningham had 11 points and two rebounds, while Monique Billings provided 10 points and eight rebounds.
Indiana improved to an 8-5 record on the season, holding the third spot in the Eastern Conference standings. They are above the Toronto Tempo and the Washington Mystics while trailing the Atlanta Dream and the New York Liberty.
Rolling with three straight wins, the Fever will look forward to their next matchup. They will be at home when they host the Tempo on June 16 at 7 p.m. ET.
