Knicks’ James Dolan crashes Josh Hart’s press conference with message to celebrating fans

The New York Knicks are NBA champions after 50-plus long years, as they were able to defeat the San Antonio Spurs in five games. Every player who stepped on the floor for the Knicks in this series contributed in some way, even if they didn’t score many points.

Josh Hart has always been one of the players whom you can trust to do the dirty work, but he can also give you a tough layup or 3-pointer at any moment. As Hart was on the podium following the game, James Dolan crashed his press conference to give Knicks fans an important message back home.

“We need to tell everyone in New York. We know that they are celebrating. We want them to have a great time. Please be safe. Don’t get hurt, don’t hurt anybody. We are going to have a parade on Thursday,” Dolan said.

It may have been too late for Dolan to give that message, because right after the buzzer sounded, Knicks fans were out on the streets celebrating. Hopefully, everyone was able to stay safe, and they’ll have a more organized celebration for the team later in the week.

Dolan also spoke to the fans during the trophy celebration, and he shared with them that it’s been a long time since they’d been in this position.

“Hey, New York!” Dolan said. “I’m sorry it took so long, but here we are, and hopefully it won’t take that long again.

The Knicks put together this core group last season, and they were able to finally bear the fruits of their labor. Though the Knicks want to be back in this same position for years to come, nothing is promised.
