Golden Knights’ Brayden McNabb’s ‘simple’ 3-word goal for Game 6 vs. Hurricanes

Despite taking a two-games-to-one series lead over the Carolina Hurricanes in the 2026 Stanley Cup Final, the Vegas Golden Knights now trail three games to two, and are on the brink of elimination after dropping Game 5 by a 4-2 final score at Lenovo Center in Raleigh.

They return to T-Mobile Arena for Game 6 on Sunday evening, and have no choice but to win and force a Game 7 back in Carolina if they don’t want their season to come to a close.

For veteran defenseman Brayden McNabb, who was injured earlier in the series when he took a slapshot directly off his face, he had a simple goal for himself and the rest of his teammates in their do-or-die situation they’re faced with.

“It’s simple: go win a game,” McNabb said via NHL.com. “It’s exciting. It’s fun. Win a game, and go to Carolina for Game 7.”

Meanwhile, teammate Ivan Barbashev said the entire team is feeling confident about their chances.

“It’s obvious it’s a really important game for us,” Barbashev said. “We want to do everything we can to force a seventh and deciding game. I think it’s up to us just to come to the rink and be ready to go. The game itself is going to itself show a result at the end. I think the group is pretty confident about tomorrow and just trying to prepare mentally.”

Game 6 of the Stanley Cup Final will be played Sunday evening, beginning at 8:00 p.m. ET. If Vegas can pull off a win, Game 7 would be back in Raleigh on Wednesday evening.
