OG Anunoby left baffled after accidental livestream mishap during celebration

OG Anunoby had two of the biggest plays of the New York Knicks’ NBA Finals run and subsequent championship, so it seemed fitting that the had perhaps the most humorous moment during the post-Game 5 celebrations.

In the midst of the Knicks’ NBA Finals postgame celebration in the locker room, including the champagne bath, OG Anunoby accidentally clicked on live stream on his phone app and was heard in the background asking how can he turn it off.

Jokes aside, the Knicks do not make it this far without Anunoby. During Game 4 alone, he helped seal the Knicks’ historic comeback with plays on both the offensive and defensive ends of the court. With the Knicks trailing by a point and San Antonio Spurs guard De’Aaron Fox seemingly having a breakaway layup, Anunoby chased him down and blocked the shot to get the Knicks possession.

And then when Jalen Brunson’s shot was off the mark on the ensuing play, it was Anunoby swooping in for the offensive rebound and putback that ended up being the game-winner. This is his second career championship having been a part of the 2018-19 Toronto Raptors. The former first round pick did not play in the playoffs that season, however, due to an appendectomy.

Anunoby was originally acquired by the Knicks via trade with the Toronto Raptors a couple of months into the 2023-24 season. He is currently in the midst of a five-year, $212 million contract extension he signed with the Knicks in the 2024 offseason.

During the 2026 postseason, he averaged a playoff career-high 20.1 points, 6.3 rebounds, 1.6 assists, 1.5 steals and 1.1 blocked shots with splits of 56.1 percent shooting from the field, 48.9 percent shooting from the 3-point line and 85.4 percent shooting from the free-throw line.
