NEW YORK CITY – The New York Knicks are NBA Champions for the first time in 53 years after defeating the San Antonio Spurs 4-1 in the NBA Finals. One of sports’ longest championship droughts for arguably its most devoted fan base is finally over and Jalen Brunson has been crowned the new king of NYC. The “Statue of Liberty” Nike Kobe 6 released for a retail tag of $200, almost immediately selling out on Nike’s online platforms and throughout many of their NYC retail locations shortly thereafter. The sneakers averaged about a $350-$400 resale price on the aftermarket, seeing a slight increase parallel with the Knicks’ continuous success throughout the playoffs.
However, prices skyrocketed in the moments following the Knicks’ win with several purchase prices soaring over $1,000. A day later, the current average price for a pair is sitting around $750 with the demand for Jalen Brunson PE Nike sneakers rising each day. The Knicks may have created a whole new wave of fans with this championship win and we can expect the Jalen Brunson Kobe sneakers to continue releasing in droves.
