New York Governor Kathy Hochul fires back at Greg Abbott with 3-word message after Knicks win NBA Finals

The New York Knicks are back in the Big Apple after beating the San Antonio Spurs, 94-90, in Game 5 of the NBA Finals at Frost Bank Center to take home their first title since 1973.

New York Mayor Zohran Mamdani has announced that the championship parade will be on Thursday, with thousands of fans expected to transform the city into a massive block party.

The Knicks were considered the underdogs against the Spurs. But as they have done all season, they proved that they bite pretty ferociously.

Before the NBA Finals, Texas Governor Greg Abbott posted an AI image of himself dunking over New York Governor Kathy Hochul, while President Donald Trump looks on. It went viral, although people in San Antonio disowned him.

After the Knicks won the championship, Hochul only needed three words to clap back at Abbott.

“Aged like milk,” posted Hochul on X.

There is nothing more satisfying than a perfect revenge.

Hochul did not immediately respond to Abbott’s insult. She bided her time, trusted the Knicks, and waited for the right moment.

It was similar to New York, which waited for 53 years to return to lift the Larry O’Brien Trophy and erase decades of anger, frustration, and embarrassment.

On Sunday, Hochul and Mamdani celebrated the victory during the Puerto Rican Day Parade in Manhattan, as reported by Newsday.

“This is our moment!” said Hochul.

Hochul called out the Spurs on X before Game 5 for barring fans of the Knicks from purchasing tickets, lamenting that some had already “booked flights and made plans in good faith.”
