It can still be difficult to fathom for the New York Knicks fanbase, but their long title drought is over. On Saturday night, the Knicks finished the job against the San Antonio Spurs in the NBA Finals, taking a 94-90 victory to secure a 4-1 series victory. It still feels surreal, especially for Karl-Anthony Towns, who remains emotional after reaching the mountaintop of the NBA after tragedy had befallen him time and time again through the years.
Towns lost his mother to COVID-19 complications over six years ago, and he’s also lost a few other family members to the virus. Suffice to say, the Knicks star is not just familiar with grief, but is intimate with it as well. But Towns has quite the support system to keep him afloat, with fiance Jordyn Woods being one of his rocks through it all.
In Towns’ postgame presser following the Knicks’ title-clinching victory on Saturday, he couldn’t help but give props to Woods for being there for him through thick and thin. And Woods couldn’t contain her emotions as well after seeing her man pour his heart out and give his all every single day.
“Actual tears

,” Woods wrote on her official account on X as a response to Towns’ heartfelt postgame words.
Karl-Anthony Towns talks about feeling the presence of his late mother and the support he's gotten from his fiancé, Jordyn Woods:
"Her presence is always felt in my life. You always pray you're going to pick the right woman for you and I know I did in my fiancé. I damn sure know… pic.twitter.com/lapCGeSkxL

Towns and Woods were friends before tragedy struck for the former, and it was the latter who became one of the much-needed sources of comfort for the then-Minnesota Timberwolves big man. Their relationship went to the next level in September 2020, when the two became an official couple in the public eye.
On the 24th of December in 2025, Towns, who was now a member of the Knicks after the Timberwolves traded him away in September 2024, proposed to Woods. Woods said yes, and it shouldn’t be long until that yes turns into forever for such a lovely couple.
