WWE star Rhea Ripley gets injury update fans will hate

A couple of weeks after her match at WWE Clash in Italy, Rhea Ripley suffered another injury, which is currently being evaluated by medical personnel.

During the June 12, 2026, edition of Friday Night SmackDown (via Fightful), Wade Barrett and Joe Tessitore stated that Ripley is being evaluated for a knee injury suffered at Clash in Italy.

Hopefully, she is able to come back sooner rather than later. Ripley is one of WWE’s top stars and the reigning Women’s Champion. WWE would likely want her to be available for SummerSlam in August.

The Women’s Champion’s latest injury occurred during her match at Clash in Italy against Jade Cargill. The match lasted nearly 17 minutes, and it concluded with Ripley coming out on top.

She won the Women’s Championship from Cargill during the second night of  WrestleMania 42 in April 2026. Ripley earned her title match by winning the Women’s Elimination Chamber match, last pinning Tiffany Stratton.

This is her fourth world championship reign on the main roster. Previously, she held the Women’s Championship once, and she is also a two-time Women’s World Champion.

Additionally, she has won the NXT Women’s Championship once and was the inaugural NXT UK Women’s Champion. Ripley is also a two-time Women’s Tag Team Champion. She has won the belts with Nikki A.S.H. and Iyo Sky. She also won the Women’s Royal Rumble in 2023.

It’s unknown when Ripley will return from her injury. The next WWE PLE, Night of Champions, will take place on June 27, 2026, in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia.

WWE will then hold a Saturday Night’s Main Event at Madison Square Garden in New York City on July 18. This is the last PLE before SummerSlam, which will take place from Aug. 1-2 in Minneapolis, Minnesota. SummerSlam is traditionally WWE’s second-biggest annual event of the year after WrestleMania.
