It’s obvious that the New York Knicks have gone hard during championship celebrations, as the team’s starting five appeared to be hiding a hangover on Good Morning America (GMA).
The Knicks’ starting five: Jalen Brunson, Karl-Anthony Towns, Mikal Bridges, OG Anunoby, and Josh Hart, appeared on GMA on Monday, June 15, 2026, just days removed from their championship win.
Two of the players, KAT and Hart, were wearing sunglasses during the entire segment. They were also in high spirits, laughing and giggling throughout. Seth Rosenthal on BlueSky dubbed them “The Five Headaches.”
The Knicks won their first championship in 53 years

On Saturday, June 13, 2026, the Knicks won the franchise’s first championship since 1973. It was not always easy, but they put the San Antonio Spurs away in five games.
Game 5 was won by Jalen Brunson, who scored 45 of the team’s 94 points in the contest. He made over half of his shots and made 13 of his 15 free throws.
He won Finals MVP for his efforts. During the series, he averaged 32.6 points, 4.2 rebounds, and 4.6 assists per game. His performance got better as the series went on. He was also integral in the team’s historic 29-point comeback in Game 4, scoring 36 points in the contest.
The Knicks were on a tear in the postseason. They won 16 of 19 games in the playoffs, including going on a 13-game win streak. This included them sweeping the Philadelphia 76ers and the Cleveland Cavaliers in the Eastern Conference Semifinals and the Eastern Conference Finals.
Their win streak was snapped by the Spurs in Game 3 of the NBA Finals. It looked like New York was about to start a losing streak in Game 4 before they staged a historic comeback. Now, they are champions, and they will begin their quest to repeat in the fall. For now, they can celebrate, as their parade is set for Thursday, June 18.
