Why Knicks superfan Hank Azaria ‘bothered’ and called out Taylor Swift for going to Game 4

Hank Azaria called out Taylor Swift for sitting courtside on celebrity row during the New York Knicks’ Game 4 win during the NBA Finals.

Appearing on The Dan Le Batard Show with Stugotz (via The Hollywood Reporter), Azaria called Game 4 “crazy in there celebritywise.” However, he noted that you “only see the A+ list down at the bottom.” He then explained why the singer’s presence “bothered” him.

“I’ll tell you the one that bothered me was Taylor Swift,” he said. “I know she’s the hugest thing in the world, but we had to sit with her all through the NFL and now she’s at the Garden. Come on.”

He then clarified that “it’s not that I question why she’d get the seat,” but rather, he’s “just tired of the whole Taylor sports.” Azaria then called it “ridiculous” that she had three courtside seats, which she gave to Alana and Este Haim.

The selection process for celebrity tickets is tricky. Azaria alleges that most, with the exception of megafans like Ben Stiller and Tracy Morgan, find out the day of if they’re getting in. He didn’t get Game 3 tickets, but he was able to get into Game 4.

Azaria then doubled down and called the location of his seat “horrible.” He sat in the Cisco Suites, which are located in Madison Square Garden’s upper bowl.

“I know I’m not courtside, but I think they’ve [MSG] got me good seats. But we’re way up in what they call the Cisco Suites, which are like the ceiling,” he said. “Like there’s so many folks who want in that they’ve stuck us all up in the rafters.

“Celebrities are scattered throughout the entire Garden. You only see the A+ list down at the bottom. Everybody else is like stuck wherever,” Azaria continued.

Luckily, he was “just happy to be in there” to see the Knicks stage a historic 29-point comeback win. Regardless of where he was sitting, he got to witness history.
