Knicks’ championship win shatters Eagles’ Fanatics sales record

Just a year after the Philadelphia Eagles’ Super Bowl 59 win over the Kansas City Chiefs set sales records for Fanatics, the New York Knicks’ first championship in 53 years has topped it.

The Athletic reports that the Knicks’ championship gear “has become the top seller across all sports within the first 24 hours of a title in Fanatics history,” breaking a record previously held by the Eagles last year.

Additionally, New York could be on pace to become the top championship team in “total sales” in the company’s history. If they do, they’d top the 2016 Chicago Cubs after they won the World Series.

How have the Knicks’ Fanatics sales compared to other NBA champions’ sales?

Previously, the 2020 Los Angeles Lakers championship-winning team, led by LeBron James, was Fanatics’ best-selling NBA Finals-winning team. However, the Knicks have “already more than doubled” the 2020 Lakers’ sales.

According to The Athletic’s report, Fanatics released over 300 championship-branded products. Over 8,000 orders per minute, which is also a record, came in right after the game.

Naturally, the top-sellers were T-shirts and hats. Other notable sellers include a $10,000 Swarovski crystal leather jacket and a Seinfeld-themed shirt. Several trading cards were also sold to commemorate the championship win.

Knicks fans will continue celebrating their team’s win. The championship parade is set for Thursday, June 18, 2026, in New York City.

The Knicks beat the San Antonio Spurs in five games to win the franchise’s first championship since 1973. Game 5 was played in San Antonio, but Jalen Brunson wouldn’t let his team lose. He scored 45 points and made more than 50% of his shots.

He also won Finals MVP for his efforts. Brunson averaged 32.6 points, 4.2 rebounds, and 4.6 assists per game through the five-game series. This capped his fourth season with the Knicks. He has led them to the playoffs in all four years of his career in New York, delivering a title in the fourth.
