Perhaps things are lining up for UFC legend Conor McGregor to appear in WWE, as he recently called out the “Tribal Chief” Roman Reigns after he went to UFC Freedom 250.
TKO Group Holdings posted a picture of the “Tribal Chief” at the White House. McGregor replied on X, formerly Twitter, by asking, “Who?”

Maybe he was serious, or maybe he was setting up a potential future confrontation within WWE. Fans pointed out in the comments section of McGregor’s post that he’d previously interacted with Reigns.
In 2016, McGregor claimed that he could “slap the head off your entire roster. And twice on Sundays,” talking about WWE. However, the “Tribal Chief” clapped back, saying, “[You’re] the size of my leg. Shut up.”
Other fans took Reigns’ side, with one saying, “Love you but don’t disrespect the GOAT.” Another said, “Roman is more famous worldwide than Conor.”
Will UFC’s Conor McGregor and WWE’s Roman Reigns ever face?
It’s unknown if WWE and UFC will ever coordinate something between Reigns and McGregor. They are two of the most popular names in their respective companies, making it potentially a marquee match.
However, it might not happen in the near future. After a five-year hiatus, McGregor will make his return to the Octagon, facing Max Holloway at UFC 329 on July 11, 2026, in Paradise, Nevada. Maybe Reigns will attend the event.
Meanwhile, Reigns is the reigning World Heavyweight Champion for Monday Night RAW. He is coming off his second successful title defense against Jacob Fatu at Clash in Italy. He won the World Heavyweight Championship from CM Punk at WrestleMania 42 in April.
This is Reigns’ first world title reign since his run as Undisputed WWE Champion, which lasted from August 2020 to April 2024. He lost the belt to Cody Rhodes at WrestleMania 40 in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania.
