Wth the Phoenix Suns in the offseason, the team had to witness former player Mikal Bridges win an NBA championship with the New York Knicks. As Bridges was on the Suns under head coach Mike Budenholzer, and teammates with stars such as Devin Booker, Chris Paul, and others, the current Knicks star would speak on a hilarious gift that Paul sent him.
Having been with Phoenix from 2018 to 2023, Bridges was with Paul, Booker, and others in the 2021 NBA Finals and experienced trials and tribulations with one another. in February of 2023, Bridges would be traded to the Brooklyn Nets, as after winning the NBA title with the Knicks, the star would go on Instagram Live and reveal that Paul gifted him a football helmet with the Nets logo since they “play football in the East.”
“Can I say one thing? Let me say one thing, shoutout CP3 man, this n***a CP3 is a f***ing troll bro. Got traded to Brooklyn, he gonna send me a helmet, cause n****s play football in the East. Shoutout CP3,” Bridges said.

Subsequently, there is no denying that Bridges, Paul, and others on the Suns formed friendships that will stand the test of time, as many are on different paths. After being on the Nets, Bridges would be dealt to the Knicks in a massive haul where Brooklyn received five first-round picks and other assets.
At any rate, with Bridges achieving success with New York and Paul in retirement, that football helmet will appear to be a lifelong memento for the 29-year-old.
