Tyrese Haliburton gets random shoutout from Packers LB Micah Parsons

Tyrese Haliburton was out for the entire 2025-26 NBA season for the Indiana Pacers. He was recovering from a torn Achilles tendon he sustained during last year’s NBA Finals. As a result, he had to bear witness to the New York Knicks winning the title, the same team they defeated in the Eastern Conference Finals.

His absence got the attention of Green Bay Packers LB Micah Parsons. Parsons posted on social media his wish that Haliburton had played.

“The nba missed Haliburton this year!! Playoffs wasn’t the same without him!”

Haliburton was a staple in last year’s postseason. He helped lead the Pacers to the Finals for their first time since 2000. Haliburton averaged 17.3 points, 8.6 assists, and 5.3 rebounds in the postseason. His sharp shooting and playmaking were instrumental in getting the Pacers to the Finals. In terms of Pacers history, Haliburton evoked memories of Reggie Miller, whose sharpshooting put the organization on the map in the 1990s.

Ultimately, he tore his Achilles tendon during the pivotal Game 7 of the Finals against the Oklahoma City Thunder.

The Thunder went on to win their first NBA title.

Haliburton and Parsons have a friendship. In March 2024, Haliburton gave Parsons an autographed jersey when he attended a Pacers game against the Dallas Mavericks. At the time, Parsons played for the Dallas Cowboys. Parsons was traded to the Packers in August 2025.

Haliburton is posting videos of himself showing fans how much progress he is making during his recovery. He has been cleared to play 5-on-5 and added 30 pounds of muscle.
